ICCPWS: Search the ICC ‘Preparatory Works’
The ICC Preparatory Works and Statute Amendments Collection in the ICC Legal Tools Database contains more than 9,000 documents. It is the largest collection of these preparatory works available online, prepared by a team led by Mr. Enrique Carnero Rojo in the Legal Advisory Section of the ICC Office of the Prosecutor in 2003-05. Most documents in the Collection were made before the final numbering of the provisions in ICC Statute was agreed. That has made it harder to make full use of the Collection.
This tool – the ICC Preparatory Works Search (‘ICCPWS’) – allows you to find documents in the Collection searching by article in the ICC Statute. Type “Article” and the provision you are interested in, and a list of documents will open. When you select a document, you will be taken to the ICC Legal Tools Database from where you can freely access it. Each document has a unique PURL which you can use in your own citations (also as a hyperlink), by that aiding other users. The ICCPWS has been created by Dr. Cyril Laucci (Chief Editor), Dr. ZHU Dan and Ms. Margherita Stevoli.
